Race Management

Race management is led by Olympic gold medalist Bob Seagren of Run Racing in Long Beach, California and Steven Munatones of Huntington Beach, California.

Run Racing specializes in the development, management and implementation of endurance, health and fitness events.   Its signature event, the Long Beach International City Bank Marathon, is now in its 25th year. Over 20,000 competitors from across the nation and 20 foreign countries participate in the annual run.  Run Racing also provides race management for other events, including the Dana Point Turkey Trot for the Dana Point Chamber of Commerce. In its 30th year, and with over 9,000 participants, The Dana Point Turkey Trot is one of the largest Thanksgiving Day runs in the nation.

Steven Munatones has coached numerous USA Swimming National Open Water Teams and English, Catalina, Molokai, National Championship swimmers with a prolific body of work in reporting, promoting and administering open water on the domestic and international levels. Steven has served as the Race Director for the Waikiki Roughwater Swim, National High School Triathlon Camps and Championships in Maui and Kauai, and was the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim commentator at the 2008 Beijing Olympics for NBCOlympics. He is one of the world’s most experienced and passionate open water swimming supporters who has done, organized or reported on short-distance and professional marathon swims in over 30 countries and 20 states in oceans, lakes, bays, lagoons, rivers, reservoirs, rowing basins and canals. He has written four cover stories for Swimming World Magazine and USMS Swimmer Magazine as well as numerous articles in Competitor Magazine, Swimming Australia Magazine, Triathlon Magazine and other publications and websites on open water swimming.
