The Olympic Road to London Begins in Long Beach Marine Stadium in Long Beach will be the venue for some fast and competitive races for world-class swimmers, fitness swimmers, age-group swimmers, multi-sport endurance athletes, triathletes, college students and masters swimmers. The 2010 Pacific Open Water Festival will have its second set of races on August 22nd where athletes of every age, ability and background can compete on the same course as some of the world's best open water swimmers. In August, the 2010 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships will be held on the traditional date for the Pacific Open Water Festival. Sunday, August 22 will be the Pan Pacific Swimming Championship 10K race will be held before the traditional races for swimmers of all ages and abilities. The athletes in the front of the pack in Long Beach will have front-runner status for the 2011 World Swimming Championships 10K race in Shanghai, China - which serves as the first qualification race for the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim at the 2012 London Olympics.
